SIFT Sunday, on 28th April, is a fantastic opportunity for your church to learn about, pray and raise funds for our work in Nicaragua. We would love it if you could save the date in your church calendar and consider:
- Showing a presentation about SIFT’s work as part of your Sunday service.
- Praying for the people of Nicaragua and SIFT’s projects.
- Organising a fundraising event to raise money for SIFT.
On this page we have provided some downloadable resources that you can use at your church on SIFT Sunday. If you would like any SIFT brochures or other publicity materials, please feel free to get in touch with us. It would also be great to hear how you are planning to celebrate SIFT Sunday and to hear some of your stories from the event!
Service ideas and resources
To download any of the resources below, please right click on the blue link and then click on “Save Link As…” (Chrome or Firefox) or “Save target as…” (Internet Explorer). You can then choose where to save the item on your computer.
Presentation and video clips
If you have about 15 minutes in your service to focus on SIFT’s ministry in Nicaragua then you could show our Voices from Nicaragua presentation, which is supplied with a script. If you need help modifying the presentation to fit into a shorter timescale, please get in touch with us and we’d be pleased to help you!
During the presentation you can show the following video clips which will let your congregation hear from those in Nicaragua who are being supported by SIFT. The presentation script indicates when these clips should be shown.
Prayer
It would be wonderful if you could spend part of your service praying for SIFT’s work in Nicaragua. You can download our Prayer Sheet to guide your time of prayer.
Display area
We have a selection of photos available that you can print out to create a display area about SIFT’s work in Nicaragua.
Board game
We also have a board game available to help members of your congregation, or children in your Sunday school, to appreciate the difficulties of living in the developing world. To play On the edge, please download the game board, the situation cards and the game instructions.
Nicaraguan meal
After your service why not give people a taste of Nicaragua? You can download our recipes and cook one of two traditional Nicaraguan meals.
